People with college educations have far more career choices than those who don't, so they are more likely to find a job they like.
People with college educations tend to meet a greater variety of people in college than those who don't. The more different kinds of people you meet, the better perspective you get, and the more likely you are to find someone you want to be with.
As we outsource more and more of our manufacturing jobs, we depend on our colleges to produce people with sufficient education to at least keep the high-end design and engineering jobs here.
The additional perspective you get in college makes you more prepared for your other functions in society such as voting, being a parent and tolerating others who are different from yourself.
