  •  I've been going 6 days a week, every week for 3 months so far.

But I must ask you guys: dad bod or 6 pack?

    •  Lots of girls don’t mind the dad bod, but if they say they don’t prefer a six pack, they are lying.

    •  I'm building home gymn in my basement I started to get equiptment but need to furnish it little first...in mean time I do 100 sit ups, push ups, & squats at home.. I also started to do calf raises so what I'm missing is shoulder's & lats. My routine is not ideal for muscle mass because I don't do max weighr nor rest muscles so it's more for tone & maintanence... I used to go to gymn everyday & was my University's bench press champ in my weight class

    • Thank you. That was really detailed. I'll try this pyramid-style weightlifting more often. I've done it a couple times for bench press, but felt somewhat of a plateau which is why I asked.

Personally, I've been using Mr. Olympia's workout <
https://www.muscleandfitness.com/.../best-olympia-body...> from Men's Health as well as Ryan Reynold's abs (5X circuit) workout from Buff Dudes. My current routine is a push/pull/legs abs split using the above sets and reps with 4X cardio days (some days stairs) for 20 minutes. I switch it up with tennis, badminton, skating, swimming, rock climbing, bicycling, and really anything else that's fun.

I know that hypertrophy happens when you work out the muscle group at least 2X a week. That's why I go for 6 days. But I do feel like it's better to do bodyweight exercises like pullups and pushups (Michael Phelps) for a toned look.

I always try really really hard. I've had DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness) on some days when I go really hard.

    • when I used to bench press if I was alone I would bench 2 plates (one each side) do 10 reps, add 25lbs to each side do another 10 reps, then 225 - 2 plates each side & do 10 reps, if I wasn't sure I do 10 reps easily I'd look around & ask for spotter or stop at rep that I know I can safely put it up...my last set would be back to 2 plates & do 20-25 reps... sometimes I would get caught without a spotter & get stuck I'd bring the weight down to my chest then slide it down to waist then lean forward to place weight on the bench while sliding out... if I'm working out with others I'd follow their regime which would usualy include more sets & going heavier... every so often I like to max out with friends which from what I understand is not that great for your progress physically but mentally it's fun makes achieving goal a challenge to meet & measurable..until I got up to my goal 300lbs which was enough to win my college contest... big key to contest though was losing weight I dropped down to my class limit 150lbs, even though I weighted about 165lbs couple weeks before contest...

    • One of my friends told me to leave the clamp off on on side just in case and that's helped me bench solo. ðŸ˜Ž
I need to define a specific goal like that. What do you think for a 5'11" 175 lbs man for bench press? I'm reincorporating swimming and yoga/meditation too for the mind-body connection. My goal is being healthy, mental well-being, and longevity while looking sexy. Swimming's probably the best and my main focus for very long term when I'm older too. <https://www.bluezones.com/.../what-exercise-best-happy.../>
